Leigh Altshuler

Leigh Altshuler is the founder of Sweet Pickle Books, a unique bookstore in NYC’s Lower East Side. A former Strand Book Store employee, she opened the shop in November 2020, blending her love for literature with the neighborhood’s rich pickling history. Her vision turned Sweet Pickle Books into a quirky, beloved spot where books and pickles bring the community together.

She has a background in marketing and storytelling, which helped shape the store’s unique identity. Leigh is passionate about sustainability, encouraging book trading and reuse. Her shop has gained recognition in major publications, making it a must-visit cultural gem in NYC.
